A deal to sell Manchester United midfielder Fred will “100% happen”, as reported in a latest video by Fabrizio Romano. The journalist has said that selling the Brazilian is a priority for the club, as they wish to use the fee received in the sale to fund a deal for Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.

Manchester United Will Sell Fred
Several Clubs Involved in Talks for the Midfielder
Galatasaray have been involved in negotiations this week with Manchester United for Fred. However, Romano claims that a deal with the Turkish club seems ‘difficult’. Other clubs have reportedly entered the race to sign the Brazilian, who signed from Shakhtar Donetsk for £52 million in June 2018.

It is unclear how much clubs are willing to pay for the central midfielder, but Manchester United will be keen to raise funds, as they are expected to need around £30 million to complete a deal for Amrabat. Selling Fred will help the club ease Financial Fair Play concerns in their pursuit of their target.
The Red Devils are also seeking to sell Donny van de Beek and have been approached by Real Sociedad. The clubs are currently in talks and negotiating the terms of a deal for the Dutch midfielder, who has spent most of his time in the north of England on the bench.
The La Liga side will hope that they can revitalise the 26-year-old’s career, as they seek reinforcements following David Silva’s ACL injury. The former Manchester City maestro’s injury led to the decision to retire from football last month, aged 37.
Sofyan Amrabat Wants Manchester United Move
Whilst some reports this week have quoted Amrabat as claiming he’s staying at the Serie A club, these reports have been heavily disputed and labelled as ‘fake quotes’ by Romano. The midfielder is understood to have already agreed to a deal with Manchester United and is waiting for a transfer to be negotiated by the clubs.

Amrabat was hailed for his performances for Morocco during the 2022 Qatar World Cup, as he led his nation to a semi-final – the first African nation to reach that stage of the competition. Following a shock victory on penalties against Spain in the last 16, opposition manager Luis Enrique labelled the midfielder ‘extraordinary’.
In Romano’s YouTube video, he states that a transfer for the Moroccan will take some time, with the Manchester club expected to approach Fiorentina for discussions over terms before any bid is launched. However, with the player keen on a move, a deal looks likely to be reached before the end of the transfer window.
How long a deal for Amrabat takes will largely depend on the progress of sales of Fred and van de Beek. However, United fans can be optimistic, as they have been assured that the club will sell the Brazilian midfielder, and negotiations for the out-of-favour Dutchman are already taking place.
