The veteran midfielder has been an integral part of the team ever since his arrival from Pescara in 2012. He cemented himself as a regular starter in the midfield orchestrator role for the club as well as the Italy international side. The 30-year-old has made 416 appearances for Les Parisiens, scoring 11 goals and providing 61 assists from deep midfield position.

Latest in the Line of European Superstars Moving to Saudi

The Saudi Pro League has been snatching players away from top European clubs this summer. Household names like Karim Benzema, Ruben Neves, N’Golo Kante and many more have made the switch to the Gulf country this summer. Verratti will most likely be next in line. This could be the biggest coup yet for the Saudis this offseason.

The Ligue 1 star is regarded as one of the best in Europe in his position and at 30 years of age, is in his prime for a midfielder. If the move goes through, the Italian will undoubtedly enhance the quality of the league further. He could propel Al-Hilal to new heights helping them better their last season’s third-place finish in the upcoming 2023/24 season.

Liverpool Interest

This move comes as a slight blow to The Reds to have been renovating their midfield this summer. According to one source, they even agreed personal terms with the midfielder. The English side have already signed Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai this summer while veterans like James Milner and Jordan Henderson have been shown the exit door.
