Manchester United are expected to offload Eric Bailly after keeping him out of their squad for the pre-season tour of the USA, claims Fabrizio Romano. The Ivory Coast international has fallen out of favour at Old Trafford under Erik ten Hag.
Three clubs are now interested in Bailly, with the defender set to leave in the ‘coming weeks’ as per the latest from Romano.

Bailly Not Part of Erik Ten Hag’s Project
After arriving from Villarreal in 2016, the centre-back has struggled with injuries and failed to assert himself as a first-team regular under all the managers that have taken charge of the Red Devils since that period.

Romano states that Bailly is no longer considered to be a part of Ten Hag’s project at the Theatre of Dreams. It’s added that the Ivorian defender is now expected to leave the Premier League heavyweights after not being able to earn a place in the United squad for their upcoming preseason friendly games in the USA.
The 29-year-old centre-back spent the entirety of the 2022/23 season on loan at French club Marseille, making 23 appearances for them in all competitions. However, his performances weren’t considered to be good enough for the Ligue 1 side to sign him permanently and Bailly is now left in a bit of a tough spot. Despite the Red Devils’ desire to offload him, the defender is yet to attract serious attention for a summer transfer and remains an outcast at Old Trafford.
Bailly Potential Destination Revealed – Al Nassr Make Approach
According to Fabrizio Romano (citing Marc Mechenoua) Al Nassr are said to have approached Eric Bailly.
But they are not the only clubs interested with Fulham and Al Ettifaq also enquiring about the conditions on a deal.
Bailly “will make a decision on next club soon” with the player set to leave in the “coming weeks”, says Romano.

Will United Sell Anyone Else Apart From Bailly?
It appears that the Ivorian might not be the only one that Ten Hag’s side are looking to get rid of in the summer window. Romano also adds that Alex Telles was snubbed from the squad because he is nearing a move to Al Nassr once all the necessary transfer documents are approved.

Brazilian midfielder Fred is also reported to be of interest from a few clubs, including Fulham, and he could be sold soon too. Harry Maguire, who recently lost his captain’s armband, is also in a shaky position. When it comes to Bailly, however, it appears that the end of the road is near. The 29-year-old defender, hailed as ‘The Beast’ in the defence, is rumoured to earn £80,000-a-week salary at United – which could be a possible reason why he’s yet to attract serious attention for a summer move.
