Tanguy Ndombele’s career at Tottenham Hotspur has not lived up to the hype so far. After making the move to England for a club-record fee worth £63 million, the Spurs player has been sent out on loan multiple times due to his poor relationships with managers and questionable work ethic. However, with a new coach comes new opportunities. If Ange Postecoglou can push the 26-year-old to play his best football, the North London Club could be adding a serious upgrade that could almost feel like a new signing.
Tanguy Ndombele’s Return Could Revolutionize Tottenham’s Midfield
From Defense to Offense
Having won five out of six possible trophies during his tenure in Scotland, it’s almost certain that the Australian coach will utilize his coveted 4-3-3 formation. If he uses his midfielders in the same fashion as he did when he was in charge of Celtic, then Ndombele will be able to roam into open spaces that the wingers and full-backs create. This will allow him to express his creativity with the ball in a much different way than in previous seasons. Hopefully, this freedom could bring some joy back into his gameplay and help him unleash the talent he possesses.

Another factor comes in the form of Rodrigo Bentancur’s injury. The Uruguayan is a key figure for the team on both sides of the pitch and his absence will certainly create a hole in the team until he recovers. With his recovery date set to be well past the beginning of the 23/24 campaign, it could create an opportunity for the former Napoli loanee to establish himself as a valuable member of the squad so long as he isn’t lazy defensively.
Last Chance for Redemption
The clock is running out for the Frenchman. Having joined his team in 2019, this will likely be the final chance for him to prove himself to the coaches and fans of the Lilywhites. We know that he has amazing technical abilities, but he will certainly need to step up his efforts elsewhere if he wishes to become a regular in the lineup.
