Ten Hag Wants a New Number One Goalkeeper
David de Geas’s departure from Manchester United has now been confirmed. After making 545 appearances for the Red Devils, since he joined in 2011, the Spanish international has failed to agree a new deal and has now left the club. Ten Hag desires a ball-playing goalkeeper to help implement his long-term philosophy, which has led the Dutch manager to desire Onana who has previously been described as “exceptional.”
What Qualities Andre Onana Brings to Old Trafford
Onana is known as an exceptional ball-playing goalkeeper, in stark contrast to the recently departed De Gea. The Cameroonian goalkeeper is remarkably comfortable with the ball at his feet and rarely looks flustered in possession, making him a vital weapon in helping Ten Hag implement his philosophy of playing out from the back, should they complete the deal for the Inter Milan goalkeeper.
