Liverpool’s Plans for Lavia Revealed
The Belgian midfielder was one of the Saints’ brightest players in the 2022/23 Premier League season and managed to impress many with his performances – even though he ended up getting relegated at the end of the season.

Romano adds that the Reds remain in the race to sign Lavia and that their interest in him has not changed despite their recent signings. He adds that the 19-year-old remains on their summer transfer list alongside another midfield target, Khephren Thuram – who has been linked with them in recent weeks.
It is also stated by Romano that Arsenal are also still very interested in signing the Southampton midfielder – but their chances of actually making a bid to sign him all depend on if they are able to sell Thomas Partey in the summer window. The Saints, meanwhile, are standing strong with their valuation of £50 million to sell their young midfielder – adds Romano.
How Can Lavia Fit In at Liverpool?
Lavia was able to gain the attention of multiple teams with his performances for the Saints last season in a deeper midfield role after joining them from Manchester City. The teenager produced a number of bright displays and even scored in his side’s win over Chelsea, helping him gain a lot of respect from major teams.

The Belgian youngster would seemingly be an ideal long-term replacement for Fabinho, who lost his form last season. Lavia loves to tackle and win the ball in midfield, which makes him an ideal fit for Jurgen Klopp’s high-pressing system that has gained him a lot of success over his time at Liverpool. For the time being – it remains to be seen if the Reds are able to sign the midfielder, with Arsenal reportedly interested in Lavia.
