According to Fabrizio Romano, Napoli defender Kim Min-jae who has been a target for Manchester United this summer has been in positive talks with Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.

Kim looks set to leave Napoli, with positive talks taking place between the player and Bayern Munich. The latest update from Romano mentions that the deal between the Bavarian giants and Kim is at the final stages, with the “sensational” defender prepared to accept a 5-year deal. The release clause in Kim’s contract is rumoured to be £ 52 million. The clause will only become valid on July 1, according to Romano. In addition, the update also mentions that unless a club beats Bayern Munich’s salary proposal, the South Korean international will join the German club.

Manchester United have been linked with a move for Kim this summer, but it appears the Old Trafford club will be beaten to the Napoli defender’s signature by the Bundesliga club. The South Korean defender was reportedly seen as a priority for Erik ten Hag, but the latest update suggests it will take a big offer to tempt Kim away from joining Bayern Munich.

It remains to be seen if Manchester United or another club will attempt to offer a bigger salary than Bayern Munich, but at this time it appears the South Korean international is headed to the Bundesliga champions.
