Why is a Cody Drameh Transfer Likely?
The young full-back is likely to move away from Elland Road for a few reasons, the first of which is his evident level of quality. Drameh was a key part of the Luton squad that got promoted over the past year, with the Hatters relying on him as both a creative outlet and a defensive powerhouse.
In addition to his clear quality and interest from Premier League Burnley, the youngster has relatively little time on his contract. With just twelve months to go until he leaves Elland Road on a free, there needs to be a decision made on whether the side sell the youngster or try to renew his contract.

Why are Leeds United Holding On?
The Whites are holding on for some fairly obvious reasons. Relegation from the Premier League means that a lot of the marquee players in the squad will want a move away, but at the same time the side desperately needs strengthening. That’s especially true at right-back.
By keeping Cody Drameh and ideally extending his contract, the Leeds United hierarchy can focus on more important areas of the pitch to grow the squad and get the best possible chance of promotion. The youngster has already proven that he can achieve promotion from the Championship as part of a starting lineup, so Leeds have no reason to want him gone.

Is a Decision Likely Soon?
Whether Drameh finds himself at Burnley or Luton, there isn’t likely to be a decision very soon. The Whites are still going through a leadership change and have no manager yet, so it’s likely that the club will get to a more concrete position before making such fundamental changes to the squad.
