A source has revealed to Last Word on Football that Leeds United are having “positive talks” with Brendan Rodgers in their hunt for the next Leeds United manager. The source, who also revealed 49ers Enterprises’ purchase of the club to us, also said there was “some more news” to come soon.
Leeds United Manager Search Yields ‘Positive Talks’
Why Brendan Rodgers?
Brendan Rodgers had a poor season at Leicester City over the last twelve months, but there is still a lot of potential for the manager to do a lot of good at Elland Road. His season prior showed strong performances, and the manager’s apparent vision for the way football should be played makes him an ideal candidate for an ongoing process.
Leeds United also cannot afford to wait a long time to make a decision. The club has a lot of needs, with an ownership saga to be wrapped up, no manager and no Director of Football. With Rodgers available for hire right now, this could remove a lot of the uncertainty surrounding the club this summer.
Keep in mind that in spite of these positive talks, there are still a lot of candidates for the position at the Yorkshire club.

Who Else is In Line for Leeds United Manager?
There are a couple of other names in the discussion for the Leeds United managerial vacancy, with Daniel Farke being one of the main options. Some fans are theorising that Farke could join up with former Norwich City Director of Football Stuart Webber after the latter’s departure from the Canaries was announced.
Carlos Corberan is another player with his name in the discussion. Interviews are reportedly taking place for the role, and with the process being led by Angus Kinnear, there is a chance he could turn to Leeds United’s former U23 manager in Corberan.
No matter who the new manager, expect to see a lot of departures from the club and a large warchest to spend on a promotion campaign.
