An indispensable part of Roberto De Zerbi’s side, Mac Allister has helped the Seagulls to their first time ever qualifying for a European competition in 2022/23. They are now guaranteed to finish in sixth place and will play in next year’s Europa League, an incredible achievement for a club that played their first Premier League match less than six years ago.

Despite the greatness of his club’s accomplishments this campaign, Mac Allister’s native Argentina have reached even greater heights over the last year. In December 2022, La Albiceleste lifted the World Cup trophy for the first time in over 35 years.

Mac Allister was an important cog in that Argentina machine, playing in every match bar the South American side’s humbling 2-1 defeat to Saudi Arabia that kicked off their competition, and even providing an assist in the final.

A player with this much experience at such a young age is likely to be a fantastic addition for Liverpool who will be looking to get back to challenging for the Premier League title next season.
