Arsenal have verbally agreed a new contract with goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, confirms Fabrizio Romano. The Englishman has become a vital part of Mikel Arteta’s squad since joining them from Sheffield United in 2021.

Ramsdale in Line for New-Five Year Contract
It was reported recently that the Gunners are now close to confirming a new long-term contract for winger Bukayo Saka, after having already awarded a new deal to influential winger Gabriel Martinelli. Romano adds that Ramsdale will be the next Arsenal player to sign a new contract.

It’s also stated that Ramsdale is in line to sign a new five-year contract which will keep him at the Emirates Stadium until at least 2028. Ramsdale has already verbally agreed to a contract, and the deal is almost done. Romano claims that the necessary parties need to check the final details and prepare all the necessary documents before he can put pen to paper on a new deal.
Ramsdale Enjoying Prolific Season With Arsenal
The 24-year-old goalkeeper, whose current contract expires in 2025, is on the verge of a new contract because of his impressive performances for the Gunners this season. Ramsdale has played a major role in helping his side compete in the Premier League title race and stay on top of the table before things went awry.
In 35 Premier League appearances, the Englishman has kept 13 clean sheets and only conceded 39 goals. Moreover, he’s also produced some remarkable performances in between the posts for his side – especially a Man-of-the-Match winning performance against Liverpool at Anfield – after which Mikel Arteta hailed him as an “exceptional” player.

Ramsdale was signed by Arsenal from Sheffield United for around £30 million, proving well worth the money with his impressive performances all season long.
