Nagelsmann Remains Spurs Priority Target
Nagelsmann remains in the number one position on Tottenham’s list as the club continue their search for a new manager. The German coach has made it clear to Spurs that he is not prepared to advance to the crucial stages of negotiations until he is informed who will be the clubs’ new director of football. Tottenham’s season has been thrown into chaos following the departure of Conte and the sacking of Cristian Stellini as interim manager following the humiliating 6-1 loss at Newcastle. It seems Daniel Levy is pushing for the appointment of Nageslmann. But the process will seemingly not progress until he receives assurances over who Spurs will appoint as director of football.
What Qualities Nagelsmann Would Bring to Tottenham
The German coach likes fluidity in his formations and is not afraid to make changes during games and experiment if things are not going well. He is a perfectionist who will demand the best from the Tottenham squad. He encourages his defenders to play out from the back, which was evident throughout his two years in charge at Bayern Munich.
During his time at Leipzig, he also preferred defenders who play out from the back. He demands rotation and off-the-ball movement from his attackers, which makes his teams exciting to watch. The 35-year-old encourages his wide places to give the team plenty of width, thus giving space to the number 10 and striker for them to exploit. He will demand a high work rate from any team he manages. Whether he takes over at Spurs is seemingly up to Daniel Levy.
