Manchester United have confirmed that Alejandro Garnacho has signed a new five-year contract that will keep him at Old Trafford until June 30, 2028. The teenage winger becomes the second player to sign a new deal with the Red Devils after Luke Shaw signed a long-term contract recently.

The Argentine teenager has made his breakthrough at Old Trafford under Erik ten Hag this season and featured heavily before sustaining a nasty injury last month. The Red Devils have been reported to be in talks over a new deal with him since October 2022, with his previous deal expiring next year.

Garnacho is delighted to have penned a new deal with United, as he reflected on it and said: “When I joined this incredible club, I dreamt of achieving my debut, playing at Old Trafford, scoring my first goal and winning trophies with this badge on my chest. I feel very proud and emotional to have experienced these moments already, together with my family who have supported me every step of the way.

Garnacho Working Hard on Making Return to Action for United
The 18-year-old winger has been injured for over a month now since suffering a nasty ankle injury in a 0-0 draw against Southampton in early March. He appears to be close to making a return after resuming light training with the Red Devils.

Garnacho has been an impressive impact player under Ten Hag, producing some brilliant performances this season. That includes an assist for Marcus Rashford’s winner over Manchester City at Old Trafford and a winner in the 2-1 win over Fulham at Craven Cottage. He’s scored five goals and provided six assists in 32 appearances this season and it was said that he made United look ‘dangerous’ whenever he was on the pitch.
