Arsenal are yet to hold proper talks with Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha over a potential summer transfer, claims Fabrizio Romano. The 30-year-old could leave the London side after his contract expires at the end of this season.
Arsenal Haven’t Held Concrete Talks With Wilfried Zaha
Romano Clarifies Zaha’s Future Amid Arsenal Links
The Gunners have been long admirers of Zaha and spent quite a long period trying to sign him from Palace. They reportedly made an offer to sign him way back in the 2019 summer window but saw resistance from their London rivals – who just refused to sell him.

With links creeping up on Arsenal possibly looking to sign him if he becomes a free agent, Romano discussed Zaha’s future and wrote on his CaughtOffside column: “I’m told Wilfried Zaha has not made a final decision on the future yet. Crystal Palace are offering him a very important contract; he will decide in the next few weeks. I’m not aware of a concrete proposal or talks with Arsenal yet, Bayern have different priorities now.”
At this point, it doesn’t appear that Mikel Arteta’s side is actively looking at signing Zaha in the summer, with Palace also wanting to ensure that the 30-year-old signs a new contract with them and extends his stay with them.
Zaha Yet to Make a Decision on Crystal Palace Future
Since rejoining Palace in 2015, Zaha has been one of the best players and a vital reason behind them staying alive in the Premier League over all the years. The Englishman is aware that his next long-term contract will be the final ‘big’ one of his career, which is why he is probably taking his time to make a final decision on his future.

The 30-year-old – who has been hailed as a “world class“ player by Jurgen Klopp in the past – has 455 appearances across his multiple stints with the Eagles, scoring 89 goals and providing 76 assists across all competitions. His impressive work at Palace got him interest from Arsenal in the past, and it remains to be seen if he signs a new long-term deal with his current side after they have seemingly blocked a possible exit for quite a few years.
