The Chelsea hierarchy have decided to wait until the summer to appoint a permanent successor to Graham Potter after the club appointed Frank Lampard as Caretaker Manager until the end of the season. Ian Wright Urges Chelsea Boss to Recall Striker
Chelsea have struggled to score goals all season with only 29 goals in 30 Premier League games. The missed chances in the recent 0-0 draw with Liverpool highlighted the club’s woes in front of goal. According to Ian Wright on the Wrighty’s House podcast, he was adamant Aubameyang can solve the teams goal-scoring woes: “He will score the chances Chelsea are creating right now. I swear to God, Chelsea can absolutely cook some teams.”

Wright also explained that Lampard is a fan of the Gabon international striker. “‘The last time Lampard was at Chelsea, I remember him liking Aubameyang.” He will not be able to feature in Chelsea’s Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid due to being left out of their European squad.
What Aubameyang Would Bring to the Chelsea Team
Chelsea currently sit 11th in the league table and in need of goals to help them climb up the table. The ex-Arsenal striker established himself as one of the most prolific during his spell at Emirates Stadium, where he scored 92 goals in 163 games in all competitions. Since his deadline-day move to Stamford Bridge, Aubameyang has scored three goals in 19 games.

A motivated in-form Aubameyang would bring goals to a team struggling to find the net in any game. He would seemingly fit into any front-three combination as his movement is one of his known qualities alongside his speed – making him an ideal fit for Chelsea. If Lampard can get the Gabon striker back to his best, it will be a timely boost for a misfiring team.
