How Tottenham Hotspur Have Lined-Up Recently
Tottenham Hotspur played with a 3-4-3 formation under Antonio Conte, who was sacked in the international break after a furious rant towards the players and hierarchy after their 3-3 draw against Southampton. Stellini, being a discipline of Conte, is likely to continue with the same kind of shape and system.

The back-three of Cristian Romero, Eric Diar and Clement Lenglet are likely to keep their places at the core of the backline, with January signing Pedro Porro also keeping his place. However, Stellini might make some key changes. That could allow Ivan Perisic to come back in as a left-wing-back. Dejan Kulusevki, who has 22 goal contributions (seven goals, 15 assists) so far for Spurs – is likely to come in and play in the frontline with Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min.
Tottenham Hotspur Recent Form and Tactics
The Lilywhites had a pretty disappointing run of games in March, only winning one of their five contests and losing twice – which also was followed up their elimination from the FA Cup by tumbling out of the UEFA Champions League.
While Tottenham were known for being ‘too defensive’ under Conte, they could tweak their tempo a little bit to help control games better moving forward. Although Stellini is unlikely to change his 3-4-3 system, he could motivate the players to be more expressive than they were under the previous manager. That could see the team looking to play more attacking football and retain more of the possession, even in winning situations.

They’ll probably aim to be quicker and more decisive in creating their attacks. as well as using their width better to create chances and getting in better deliveries to the final third. Defensively, Spurs already have a packed backline that can transition into a back-five whenever necessary – even though players need to work hard to make fewer errors.
Tottenham Hotspur Key Players
For the London side, their best players still remain in the attacking third. Kane is in splendid form and comes off an impressive international break in which he became England’s top goal-scorer of all time – a feat he also achieved for Spurs earlier this season. The Tottenham captain is still the most influential attacker for the team, as he’ll aim to drop deep to help kick-start the attack but hope for better delivery in the final third to trouble Jordan Pickford with vicious shots.
Son has been inconsistent in this campaign but hopes are that Conte’s departure helps him regain his best form. The South Korean winger’s pace, dribbling ability and finishing skills are well-revered, but he needs his ruthlessness back to run the show for his team. Kulusevski is an extremely creative winger who can set up big chances from set-pieces and the wings, as he’ll aim to help his fellow forwards with his delivery to influence a change in form. Porro and Perisic are known for their attacking capabilities and need to be at their best to add more threat to their frontline.
Tottenham Hotspur Injuries to Consider
Hugo Lloris is back in training after recovering from a nasty injury, but he’s unlikely to be fully fit for this. Emerson and Rodrigo Bentancur are both ruled out for the rest of the season, while Yves Bissouma is also injured.
Tottenham Hotspur Predicted Lineup
Fraser Forster, Pedro Porro, Cristian Romero, Eric Diar, Clement Lenglet, Ivan Perisic, Pierre-Emile Højbjerg, Oliver Skipp, Dejan Kulusevski, Son Heung-Min, Harry Kane
