How Newcastle Have Lined up Recently
Eddie Howe has stuck with the tried and tested 4-3-3 formation for most of the season. This set-up has given them stability at the back while allowing them to control the tempo of the game using their midfielders. The back five of Nick Pope, Kieran Trippier, Fabian Schar, Sven Botman and Dan Burn have a league-leading 12 clean sheets this season, in addition to conceding the least number of goals.
The predicted lineup sees Joelinton make a comeback in midfield after serving his two-match ban for accumulating ten yellow cards. The ever-present Bruno Guimaraes and Sean Longstaff will start alongside him.

The front line that started at the City Ground against Nottingham Forest is predicted to start again against the Red Devils. Jacob Murphy keeps his place in Miguel Almiron’s absence. The in-form Alexander Isak and Allan Saint-Maximin will be hoping to make an impact in this crucial Top-4 clash from the get-go.
Injuries to Consider
Botman returns to the fray after a bout of food poisoning during the international break. Howe said that the “brilliant” Dutchman had trained with the team and should be fine. Pope is back after a minor thigh injury sustained while on national team duty with England.
Almiron will be on the sidelines for a few weeks with a thigh injury. In addition to this, January signing Anthony Gordon will have a late fitness test according to the manager. The likes of Ryan Fraser and Emil Krafth are long-term absentees ruled out for this game.
