Andrey Santos Travelling to Brazil to Complete Palmeiras Loan
The 18-year-old midfielder was signed by Chelsea from Brazilian side Vasco da Gama in January, as part of their insane transfer splurge for the transfer window. However, he is currently viewed as a part of the London side’s future project and is likely to be used more regularly after a few years.
Romano adds that the teenager is going to travel to Brazil on Sunday, 19 February to complete his loan move, which will be run until December. The reason behind the loan being extended until December, rather than the summer, is that the Brazilian Serie A (top division) season ends at the end of the year.

However, the Blues will have a clause in the deal which gives them the right to re-call Andrey Santos in June if they want to. He will undergo his medicals ahead of the move at the beginning of next week and can complete the deal in the next few days.

Santos finished as the joint-top scorer with six goals from the eight games as well as registering an assist. The 18-year-old definitely proved why Chelsea took a gamble on him with his performances in the U-20 South American Championship. He’s been called ‘a beast’ by ex-Brazil midfielder Juninho and appears to have the potential to be an important player for Chelsea in the future.
