Arsenal’s Midfield Depth

While Thomas Partey has played a starring role in The Gunners’ success this season, an injury to the Ghanaian midfield maestro could put a dent in the club’s championship aspirations. With Mohammed Elneny going down with an injury in training this week, Arsenal have been left a little thin in the midfield department. This has further necessitated the need to sign another midfielder in January.

Brighton Stand Firm Despite Interest in Moises Caicedo

Amidst interest from Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal for the 21-year-old, The Seagulls insist that they want to keep him. They also rejected an earlier fee of £55 million from The Blues, who are looking to climb out of the mid-table mire they currently find themselves. Caicedo who recently changed his agents has told Brighton that he would “love to take the new opportunity” and is also ready to force through a move this January to Arsenal or Chelsea.

Caicedo has caught the eye of many a club in Europe following his performances in the recently concluded World Cup. He possesses incredible box-to-box mobility to get up and down the pitch and also is capable of scoring long-range goals. Out of possession is where the youngster truly shines, as a tough-tackling defensive “Monster.”

The Ecuadorian would undoubtedly improve the midfield of any team he walks into. Whether he leaves Brighton within the next week, however, remains a question.
