Just days after a rousing comeback against Tottenham Hotspur the titleholders are back in action. Here is the Manchester City predicted lineup for their Premier League clash with the Wolverhampton Wanderers on January 22.
Manchester City Lineup Prediction vs Wolves on January 22
How Manchester City Have Lined Up Recently
Nathan Ake and Manuel Akanji have been ever-present in the defence recently. Injuries have caused some reshuffles to the backline but Rico Lewis and John Stones tend to be the preferred starting options. Ederson is, of course, a constant in goal.
Rodri, Ilkay Gundogan, and Kevin De Bruyne usually feature in midfield, while Erling Haaland, Riyad Mahrez, and Jack Grealish line out upfront.

Manchester City Injuries to Consider
As of now, the Citizens have the joy of being completely injury free. Ruben Dias and John Stones had previously been on the shelf but both are back in the squad.
Manchester City Recent Tactics and Form
Pep Guardiola tends to operate with a 4-3-3 lineup but he did switch to a newly repopularised 4-2-3-1 in midweek against Tottenham. After suffering consecutive defeats with the midfield three, a switch to five in the midfield yielded a return to winning.
It’s unlikely this change sticks as Guardiola will be confident in his reliable formation to get the job done against his relegation-threatened opposition.
Manchester City Predicted Lineup
Some rotation is expected following the win in midweek to keep the squad fresh. Possible casualties include Haaland, Grealish, and Ake as we expect the team to line up in a 4-3-3 with the following starting eleven:
GK – Ederson
LB – Joao Cancelo
CB – Manuel Akanji
CB – John Stones
RB – Rico Lewis
CM – Phil Foden
CM – Rodri
CM – Kevin De Bruyne
AT – Bernardo
AT – Julian Alvarez
AT – Riyad Mahrez
Depending on the scoreline Rodri is likely to be pulled early for Kalvin Phillips to keep him fresh.
