Caicedo Must Change Agents Before Pushing for Chelsea Transfer
Todd Boehly doesn’t appear to be stopping on his transfer spree despite spending over £250 million in transfers during the summer transfer window earlier this season. However, Romano adds that there are no new updates on their pursuit of the Brighton midfielder.
It is also stated that there won’t be any updates unless the 21-year-old changes his agents, which is needed for him to fast-track an exit from the Seagulls. Caicedo is on Chelsea’s list of potential midfielders to pursue, but are waiting on him to fix the situation involving his agents before they accelerate their move for him.

Romano also adds that it is still not clear how Caicedo’s situation with his agents will affect the London side’s other midfielder transfer targets, as it’s too early to take much about that at the moment.

Brighton Unlikely to Let Caicedo Leave for Cheap
It has been reported that Brighton are not at all interested in entertaining any cut-price move offers for the Ecuadorian midfielder and that they will ask for over £75 million from his sale. They signed him from Ecuador club Independiente del Valle in 2021 and have greatly benefitted from having his energetic presence in the team this season.
Caicedo also made a name for himself at the World Cup, impressing for Ecuador and even scoring one goal in the three group-stage appearances for them. He was called a ‘top’ midfielder by Barcelona’s young sensation Pedri after the group stages and earned a lot of fans with his energetic, unpredictable style for the South American nation.

He has made 20 appearances across all competitions for Brighton this season, scoring one goal and providing an assist – as well as impressing with his sturdy skills as their defensive midfielder. Chelsea are interested in having his hard-working presence in their squad but are unlikely to move for him unless some of his issues are solved.
