How Leeds United Have Lined-up Recently
Leeds United have lined up in a 4-2-3-1 structure in the past few weeks, changing away from a 4-2-4 used at the very start of Jesse Marsch’s era. The goalkeeper has protection from a bank of four, with the full-backs sometimes having the license to advance. The two in front, typically Tyler Adams and Marc Roca, provide a defensive shield and passing options respectively.
The three in front of the midfield all play fairly narrowly, with Brenden Aaronson, Jack Harrison and Luis Sinisterra being the first-choice options in these positions. They support a lone striker, typically Patrick Bamford or Rodrigo.
Leeds United Recent Form and Tactics
The Whites’ recent form has been somewhat dire. Unable to put together a win in eight matches before facing Liverpool, the Yorkshire side have something of an issue with finishing chances and breaking down teams that play in a deep-lying structure against them.
This is because Jesse Marsch’s tactics primarily involve pressing opponents incredibly high and striking on the turnover. If a club sits deep against them, then Brenden Aaronson is simply winning the ball when surrounded by three defenders. That’s part of the reason that two of the club’s wins this season have come against “Big Six” clubs, with an unlucky loss against Arsenal as another strong performance.

Leeds United Injuries to Consider
The perennial injuries at Leeds United, Stuart Dallas and Adam Forshaw, remain out of contention. Forshaw has missed a lot of football in Elland Road’s Premier League era, with Stuart Dallas’ horrific injury against Manchester City still preventing him from training.
The newest injury on the list at Thorp Arch is Luis Sinisterra. His is a matter of weeks not months, but the Colombian is still expected to be out until after the World Cup with an injury to the tendons around his metatarsals.
Leeds United Lineup Prediction
- Illan Meslier
- Rasmus Kristensen
- Liam Cooper
- Robin Koch
- Pascal Struijk
- Marc Roca
- Tyler Adams
- Jack Harrison
- Brenden Aaronson
- Crysencio Summerville
- Rodrigo
Expect to see Patrick Bamford play a role off the bench as a substitute as he looks to gain form, with Willy Gnonto and Joe Gelhardt also options after a series of impressive cameos this season.
Current Odds: Leeds United vs Bournemouth
Leeds United are currently favourites to win at 13/17, with a draw coming in at the next most likely outcome of 3/1. The odds of a Bournemouth win are 4/1.
