Chelsea have virtually completed the signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Barcelona, as per CBS Sports’ Ben Jacobs. The Blues are hurrying to finalise multiple acquisitions before the end of the summer transfer window on September 1.

Aubameyang deal is virtually complete. Chelsea have already scheduled a medical for this afternoon. Rafael Leao won’t be possible unless Chelsea pay the €150m release clause. Milan have told this to Chelsea three times now. Edson Alvarez remains the priority after Aubameyang.

Medicals Booked for Barcelona Striker on Deadline Day
The London side have been working hard to get themselves a new striker after having offloaded both Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner in the summer. They are now nearing an agreement for the 33-year-old striker and will pay a fee of around £6.5 million and send Marcos Alonso the other way to the Spanish club.
Chelsea have now also booked a medical test for the Gabonese forward that will take place on Thursday afternoon. Everything is being fast-tracked just in time for Aubameyang to become a new player for the Premier League side before the transfer deadline is over.

The Blues have also reportedly proposed a two-year contract, with the option for an additional 12 months, for the 33-year-old forward, with Thomas Tuchel keeping the forward called ‘exceptional’ by Mikel Arteta in high regard after having worked with the striker at Borussia Dortmund.

Chelsea Also Looking for More Signings After Aubameyang
Jacobs also adds that the main reason behind Chelsea pushing for the Aubameyang signing is because they were unable to sign AC Milan star Rafael Leao. The Italian club refused three offers from them and informed them the only way to sign the speedy forward was to pay his £129 million release clause.
Instead, Thomas Tuchel’s side are now focused on improving their midfield situation after being outplayed by multiple oppositions early into the new season. They have also made a bid to sign Ajax midfielder Edson Alvarez and have made him their priority after the Aubameyang deal. The Mexican international reportedly wants to make a move to Stamford Bridge and has even stopped training with the club.
