According to Gerard Romero, Manchester United are very interested in Barcelona right-back Sergino Dest and there could be an offer incoming for the player very soon. This comes amidst interest from Crystal Palace in Aaron Wan-Bissaka as the Red Devils look to strengthen out wide.
All About the Offer Incoming for Sergino Dest
Who is Sergino Dest?
Sergino Dest is a right wing-back that plays for Barcelona. Amidst the Catalan club’s drive for stronger players in this transfer market, the American defender has found himself left out of the squad for every match but the recently friendly against Manchester City.
The right-back is a staple for the American national team, with excellent passing stats and a capacity to bomb on down the wing when needed. He will need minutes if he wants to secure a place at the World Cup in Qatar.
What Could an Offer Look Like?
With a potential offer incoming, Gerard Romero had no details on what a bid for Sergino Dest could look like, but there is potential for Barcelona to accept a lower offer. Los Blaugrana’s finances are still uncertain, and the club needs to sell players to ensure that it is in a strong financial position.
The American could not only bring in eight figures for Barca but is also a weight off the wage budget. The player reportedly earns £100k-per-week at the Catalan club. Whether in the form of a loan or a permanent move, Dest moving to Old Trafford wouldn’t cost the Red Devils too much. However, the player is only considering leaving Barcelona for the right offer, as (according to Villareal expert Javi Mata) he has just turned down a move to Villareal.

Where Does Sergino Dest Fit?
Sergino Dest would look for plenty of minutes at Old Trafford, with the potentially outgoing Wan-Bissaka and Diogo Dalot as his main competition for the position. With his existing attacking stats and passing solidity, this potential signing adds a lot of progression to Manchester United’s game. Erik ten Hag’s current issue is with converting defence into attack, and the American can bring that in spades.
