Casemiro Has Agreed Terms With the Club
According to The Athletic, the fee is expected to be “an initial £50 million, rising to £59 million if all clauses and conditions are met.” Casemiro has agreed a four-year contract with the option to trigger an additional year.
The South American is set to become one of United’s highest earners, reportedly on par with goalkeeper David de Gea on £350,000 a week but below five-time Ballon D’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo.
Rumours that Casemiro would double his current salary by moving to Manchester have since been confirmed as untrue.
Champions League Qualification Imperative for Erik ten Hag’s Side
United’s proposed deal to the 30-year-old relies heavily on their quest to qualify and compete in the Champions League, and his salary will take a substantial cut if the side fail to reach the top four in the coming seasons.
Casemiro is an experienced, proven and dominant figure on the pitch – exactly what Erik ten Hag needs in this lacklustre United squad of late. He is a five-time Champions League winner, and has won three La Liga titles, three UEFA Super Cups, FIFA Club World Cups and Supercopa de Espana trophies, and one Copa del Rey – securing his name in the history of Real Madrid forever.

As well as this, many of these honours were achieved alongside former teammates Ronaldo and Raphael Varane, who will be hoping to recreate their form to that of their successful era at Real Madrid when Casemiro arrives.

Casemiro Brought in to Provide Instant Impact for Red Devils
Ten Hag will likely be hoping the addition of the decorated player will kickstart United’s season after a disastrous start to the 2022/2023 campaign.
They lost 2-1 on opening day to Brighton & Hove Albion and were embarrassed by Brentford, who put four goals past them in 35 minutes, leaving United bottom of the Premier League table in 20th place.
Additionally, the Red Devils face rivals Liverpool at Old Trafford on August 22 and will be desperate to improve on last season’s thrashing by Jurgen Klopp’s men, who completed a double with an aggregate score of 9-0.
