Manchester United Make £109.8 Million Proposal for ‘Incredible’ Star; Immediate Answer Received

Joao Felix

Atletico Madrid have made their position very clear that Joao Felix is not for sale. Football journalist and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported on his YouTube channel that Manchester United have been in direct contact with the Spanish side, but have been told Felix is not an option. This comes after reports from Matteo Moretto of Relevo claimed a £109.8 million (€130 million) proposal had been made for the “incredible” striker, and that United had been met with a similar response.

Manchester United Told Joao Felix Is Not for Sale

Atletico Want to Keep Their Man

Romano reported United had been in direct contact with the club for Felix, also adding that no official bid had been summited. Instead that a proposal was ready if the club were to give the sale a green light.

However, Atletico stood firm and said the player was too important for the club and a key man for Diego Simeone.

Joao Felix is Manchester United’s Dream Player

Romano described him as a “dream” player for United but conceded that he would remain that way unless something unforeseen happened. Felix is a skilful attacker with the capability to play in all positions across the front three and also to play in behind the striker.

Atletico Madrid sent massive shockwaves through the world of football when they acquired the young forward in 2019 from Benfica for a fee of £107.5 million. His ability was only further showcased to United when he scored a bullet header against them within 6 minutes of the first leg of their Champions League round of 16 tie last season. Whilst it is obvious the signing of Joao Felix would strengthen the Red Devils’ poor attack, the Madrid side’s stance would suggest that signing him is simply not a realistic target.

United Want Attackers

Erik ten Hag is clearly in need of players to improve his attack, and with links to Cody Gakpo of PSV Eindhoven and Antony from his former club Ajax, it would suggest United will not leave this transfer window without acquiring at least one forward. However, it looks as if that will not be Joao Felix.
