As reported by Rob Tanner, Jamie Vardy has been offered a one-year contract extension by Leicester, with the new terms keeping the 35-year-old at the club through to the end of the 2023/24 season.

Leicester Look to Secure Key Players
Despite an injury-disrupted previous season, Vardy still proved to be one of Leicester’s key players, once again topping the club’s league scoring charts with 15 goals from just 25 appearances. Manager Brenden Rodgers clearly has no concerns about the former England international’s ability diminishing with age, either, starting Vardy in their opening game against Brentford, and talking in great detail of his performance in pre-season also.
Whilst Leicester have yet to dip into the transfer market, the East-Midlands club have at least signed several of their squad members to long-term deals and are looking to secure the future of others.
James Justin and Wesley Fofana have recently signed contracts, and James Maddison is reportedly considering an improved offer in light of interest from Newcastle.
With nine first-team players including new Club Captain Jonny Evans, as well as Caglar Soyuncu, Youri Tielemans and Daniel Amartey out of contract at the end of the 2022/23 campaign, Leicester will hope that they can hold on to their biggest talents, starting with Vardy.
