Nizaar Kinsella of the Evening Standard has followed up on his initial reports with an update on the status of Cesare Casadei amidst interest from Chelsea.
Kinsella’s new report indicates that Inter Milan are willing to accept a bid of £12 million which The Blues are preparing to offer. Described as a “box-to-box” midfielder the prospect hasn’t started a game at the senior level for his club but he is considered one of the finest talents in Italy.

Long-Term Plan
The signing of the 19-year-old is reportedly seen by the team as part of a revamp of their academy to fulfill their “vision 2030” strategy. Casadei along with recent signee Carney Chukwuemeka are seen as long-term prospects to potentially replace Jorginho and N’Golo Kante in the future.

Chukwuemeka has already slotted into his place at Chelsea where he trains with the first team but is available for academy games, the same is likely to go for the Inter Milan starlet should he join.

It is said that Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali are fully on board with investing in young talent to fulfill Neil Bath’s long-term strategy, something all Blues fans will be delighted to hear.
Cesare Casadei Is a Fine Prospect
Having been named in The Guardian’s Next Generation list in 2021 it comes as no surprise that the young midfielder is being heavily courted by a top English side. He has represented Italy at the youth level extensively and has played for the Milan U19 side since the age of 16.

While Boehly can’t grease the wheels at a fancy dinner with the Italian side’s executives it does appear that the prospect is available for a steal at £12 million. A price tag that will only look better if he fulfills his potential.
