Destiny Udogie: Tottenham Hotspur Pursue ‘Exciting Attacking Left-Back’

Exiting Prospect Admired by Antonio Conte

Conte is a known admirer of the Udinese wing-back, who enjoyed an excellent season scoring five goals in 35 league games following his move from Verona in 2021. Udogie has enjoyed an impressive career thus far, excelling when playing for various Italian national teams right through to the U21s.

The youngster has been linked with an imminent call-up to the senior Italy squad. If Udogie does join Tottenham he will become their seventh summer signing following Ivan Perisic, Yves Bissouma, Richarlison, Djed Spence, Clement Lenglet and Fraser Forster as the board continue to back Conte ahead of the new season beginning.

Sergio Reguilon has been told he can leave the North London club with Perisic set to become their first choice left-back. Despite having a breakthrough season for Udinese, the Spurs hierarchy are prepared to allow Udogie to remain in Italy on loan for the coming season if it means signing the youngster for a reasonable fee now.

What Qualities Udogie Will Bring to Tottenham Hotspur

Despite being an attacking wing-back, he performs his defensive duties well, making his fair share of tackles, highlighting his effectiveness in both phases of the game.

Udogie is a joy to watch when he ventures forward, often becoming involved in his team’s attacks. He provides effective width for his team but can become a threat when he drifts in field between the left winger and striker, making him difficult to mark for the opposition.
