Italian giants AC Milan are interested in two young centre-backs. This comes as no surprise after club captain Alessio Romagnoli departed to Lazio.
The Rossoneri are monitoring Evan Ndicka of Eintracht Frankfurt and Japhet Tanganga of Tottenham Hotspur, according to Fabrizio Romano. A possible deal depends on the club’s budget, and Romano mentions that Tanganga may ultimately be an easier option.

AC Milan Are Interested in Evan Ndicka and Japhet Tanganga
Two Promising Players
Ndicka is French but has spent his last few seasons in the Bundesliga. He truly shined this past season. Ndicka appeared in 32 league matches for Eintracht Frankfurt as a centre-back, but also managed to score four goals and provide four assists. His ability to contribute on both ends of the pitch is undoubtedly enticing. The 22-year-old also appeared in 11 Europa League matches.

Tanganga’s profile is somewhat different. The 23-year-old has been a part of Tottenham’s system for quite some time now. This is beneficial due to his experience around top players and a major Premier League club. At the same time, however, Tanganga has not seen as much time on the pitch as Ndicka has. Tanganga made just 11 Premier League appearances last season.
Tottenham director Fabio Paratici is in Milano, Japhet Tanganga is one of potential players expected to leave with AC Milan keen on signing him on loan. Talks on. 🔴 #ACMilan

After Romagnoli’s departure, Milan are now down to four centre-backs. Fikayo Tomori is the top of the bunch. Pierre Kalulu broke out last season and will surely see an increased role. Simon Kjaer is an experienced veteran but is coming off a major injury. Finally, Matteo Gabbia is quite inexperienced. The reigning Serie A champions could certainly use reinforcement in this department.
