Raheem Sterling: Chelsea Close In on Signing Manchester City and England Star
England International to Bolster Chelsea Attack
The Manchester City winger is set to become Chelsea‘s first marquee signing under the new ownership, with personal terms being agreed between the club and the player with Sterling set to earn £300,000 a week, once he passes his medical.
Chelsea were inconsistent in attack at crucial points last season, which cost them dearly at times. He has been a pillar of consistency during his time in Manchester, scoring 131 times in 337 appearances while providing 94 assists. Thomas Tuchel has made it clear the England international was a priority for him moving forward into the new season.
He will give Chelsea more ruthlessness in attack, which they lacked last season with Hakim Ziyech, Christian Pulisic and Timo Werner often misfiring.
🚨 Raheem Sterling will undergo his Chelsea medical today ahead of a £47.5m move from Man City.
He’ll join on a 5-year contract, with an option of a 6th.

What Will the England International Bring to Stamford Bridge
Sterling will bring a cutting edge to the Chelsea attack, which misfired at important times last season. He is explosive and has proven he provides a consistent goal threat, and he’s more than adept at providing assists for his teammates.

He seemed to drift out of Pep Guardiola’s plans towards the end of last season, and the prospect of being the main man at Stamford Bridge would have undoubtedly appealed to him. Tuchel has clearly prioritised a move for the Jamaican-born winger, suggesting he will be given a starting role at Stamford Bridge.
The new Chelsea owners have made it clear they are fully supportive of the manager and his visions for the Chelsea team. The West London club remain in the hunt for Manchester City defender Nathan Ake and Leeds United winger Raphinha after agreeing a £55 million fee for the Brazilian winger.
