Chelsea: Thomas Tuchel Open to Allowing Morocco Star AC Milan Transfer

Chelsea Tuchel Ziyech

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is open to the possibility of allowing Morocco international Hakim Ziyech to join Serie A champions AC Milan.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the two clubs opened discussions over a transfer for Ziyech two weeks ago, and are set to resume talks in the coming week.

Ziyech Also Open to Stamford Bridge Departure

It is not yet known how any final transfer to take Ziyech from Stamford Bridge to the San Siro would take shape, but the player himself is known to be open to the move.

Chelsea boss Tuchel has already lost one of his attacking options to an Italian side this summer, after the Blues’ record signing Romelu Lukaku left to join Inter Milan on a season-long loan only a year on from rejoining the London club.

However, the Belgian’s departure is not linked to Ziyech’s sitation, and German manager Tuchel will not force Ziyech to stay with AC Milan so keen to sign him.

Ziyech Has Struggled For Consistant Game-Time at Chelsea

Ziyech’s openness to find a new club is understandable: The former Ajax man has struggled for regular game-time at Stamford Bridge and has been unable to show his best form on a consistant basis as a result.

Ziyech moved to Chelsea from the Dutch side in summer 2020, and helped the Blues win the Champions League at the end of the 2020/2021 season.

However, the versatile attacking midfielder was by no means a guarenteed starter over the course of the last campaign, despite making 44 appearances in all competitions.

In the Premier League, Ziyech scored four goals in 23 matches in 2021/22. The 29-year-old has made 40 appearances for Morocco, but quit international duty in February as a result of a public falling out with the national team manager.
