Nottingham Forest are finally back in the promised land that is the Premier League. There has been quite a mixture of news surrounding the club, the positives being the arrival of Taiwo Awoniyi and Brennan Johnson’s new contract. Elsewhere though, a Nottingham Forest goalkeeper is returning to the Championship. The club have officially announced his loan move to Luton Town.
Ethan Horvath has joined Luton Town on loan for the 2022/23 season. ✍️

Nottingham Forest Goalkeeper Goes in Search of More Minutes
Where Will Ethan Horvath Fit in at Luton Town?
Ethan Horvath has a lot going on at the moment, whether it be the battle for the starting spot with the USMNT or the mission for regular football. As a Nottingham Forest goalkeeper, it was difficult for him to break through.
This could prove to be an issue again at Kenilworth Road as Horvath isn’t the only new shot-stopper. Former Arsenal and Plymouth Argyle man Matt Macey has been bought from Scottish side Hibernian, plus former Premier League man Jed Steer is in place already. The hierarchy between the trio remains to be seen, especially when you consider that money was spent on Macey.
Horvath is part of a different triumvirate when it comes to the national team. Matt Turner has recently joined Arsenal whilst Manchester City’s Zack Steffen could soon be loaned out himself. Horvath is behind those two but he saved a last-gasp penalty against Mexico that led to the US winning the Nations League. This combined with an accumulation of minutes could work particularly well for both Horvath and Luton.

What Proved to be the Issue for the Nottingham Forest Goalkeeper?
Game time was hard to come by as a Nottingham Forest goalkeeper for Ethan Horvath. It seemed that a perfect window of opportunity was opening up for the American following the announcement that Brice Samba could well leave too.
Whilst the duo were both in place at the City Ground last season, Samba was instrumental to the success and he was nigh on impossible to surpass. Steve Cooper will be hurt to lose Samba if he does eventually depart and so there could be a new goalkeeper or two for the upcoming Premier League season.
It hasn’t been the easiest ride for Horvath as a Nottingham Forest goalkeeper. A return to the Championship will allow him to prove everyone wrong if he seizes the opportunity.
