Manchester United Trying to Hijack Tyrell Malacia Transfer
Red Devils Jump In to Stop Lyon Move From Happening
The Manchester side looked to be out of the race for Malacia with Fabrizio Romano even confirming that Lyon had agreed a deal with Feyenoord for the left-back. But the Red Devils are now back in for him and have initiated talks with the Dutch side to stop his move to the French side from taking place.
They are ready to pay around £14 million for the 22-year-old defender, a similar fee to what Lyon had reportedly agreed upon before United leapt into the scene.
The Red Devils are now dealing with Feyenoord themselves to find an agreement for the signing of the promising full-back. Ten Hag is prioritising the signing of a new left-back this summer despite having Luke Shaw and Alex Telles, as he desires more competition in that area.

The Red Devils have even been linked to a move for Hoffenheim left-back David Raum, but seem to be focused on signing Malacia knowing that he could be roped in for a lower transfer fee.

Feyenoord Sporting Director Confirms Agreement
Feyenoord’s sporting director Frank Arnesen has confirmed that there is indeed an agreement with United over the deal for Malacia. He told Dutch outlet 1908: “The deal is there. We are now waiting for Tyrell. If he says yes, then a transfer to Manchester United is imminent.”
So it’s rather simple, the Manchester giants just have to agree personal terms with the young left-back to get the deal done. As it stands, it seems possible that the Dutch international will be their first signing of the summer transfer window.
Malacia Wanted by a Dozen Clubs This Summer
The Feyenoord left-back has gained a lot of attention around Europe because of his impressive performances in the Eredivisie last season. United are one of the 12 clubs who have registered an interest in him but seem to be among the few ones who are ready to make a move.
Malacia had five-goal contributions (one goal and four assists) in 32 league appearances for his side last season and has even made his debut for the Netherlands national team. Ten Hag wants promising, attacking full-backs in his United side and believes that the 22-year-old Dutchman can help improve his side’s attacking ability next season.

The Red Devils’ manager is also craving for someone to push Shaw and Telles to the next level after both the full-backs failed to impress last season. United are yet to make a single signing for Ten Hag in the summer transfer window but seem to be close to making Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong their first acquisition in the new era.
