The latest episode of The Athletic Football Podcast was all about England international Raheem Sterling and his reported potential move to Chelsea. During the episode the hosts mentioned that Sterling was on something of a fact-finding mission to learn more about Chelsea and Thomas Tuchel, indicating that he is keen on a move to play in a different shade of blue next season.
Simon Johnson was quoted as saying the following “Raheem Sterling has been asking people that he knows about Thomas Tuchel: how he acts as a coach, what he’s like, what Chelsea is like as a club to play for… when a player does that they are doing it for obvious reasons – they are keen to go”
England International Raheem Sterling Learning About Chelsea
A Key Signing
With Romelu Lukaku aiming to make a return to Inter Milan and Armando Broja still an unproven entity at the top level this is one signing that the Blues need to make. The 27-year-old Sterling has played in the Premier League for his entire senior career after making his way through Liverpool’s youth system before a move to Manchester City. The Englishman could provide the perfect striking option for Thomas Tuchel, who last season experimented with Kai Havertz as the leading forward.

One thing that Sterling has never had an issue with is scoring goals. In 339 games for Manchester City, he has scored 131 goals with his most prolific campaign coming in the 2019/20 season when he netted 31 times.
Chelsea want this move done, Sterling is showing interest, and blues fans everywhere will be hoping to get the deal done to move on to bigger and better problems like the club’s need for a new defender.
