Raheem Sterling: Chelsea Eye Move For Manchester City Star

Area for Improvement

Chelsea struggled at points last season to unlock teams and are looking to solve that problem before next season. Despite having players such as Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech, they often struggled for consistency last season, which cost Chelsea in their pursuit of Liverpool and Manchester City. A player who could solve this problem of consistent creativity in the Chelsea team is the Manchester City star.

Injuries to Hakim Ziyech and the underwhelming form of Christian Pulisic have seemingly led Chelsea to look for a solution to their creativity problems.

Chelsea have been linked heavily to Ousmane Dembele who is soon to be out of contract at Barcelona. The 25-year-old soon-to-be free agent is seemingly in no hurry to decide his future, which has seen Chelsea ramp up their interest in the England star.

Raheem Sterling To Bolster the Blues

Sterling would provide an attacking threat who offers creativity and goals in abundance. The England international appeared 49 times for Pep Guardiola’s men last season, scoring 17 goals and providing nine assists.

Bringing in Raheem Sterling could see Thomas Tuchel move to a 4-3-3 formation which has seen Sterling flourish at the Etihad. Sterling would help Chelsea immensely in how fast they transition from defence to attack because he is effective at dropping deep and linking up the play.

Sterling is superb at playing the ball infield to a teammate before using his impressive acceleration to run beyond the opposition full-back looking for the return pass, giving Chelsea a vital weapon when attacking. The England star has a proven end product, which would improve an inconsistent Chelsea attack.
