Manchester United have made an official offer for Christian Eriksen, as Tottenham watch on without having made a significant bid themselves. The Athletic have reported that United have made the Danish International an offer to join the Red Devils this summer.
Eriksen is available to sign on a free contract after the completion of his Brentford contract on the 30th June.
Manchester United are not the only club looking at the free agent, with Eriksen saying, “I have different offers and options, which we are considering, and then we make a decision,” when speaking to Viaplay.

Christian Eriksen Considered for Old Trafford Gig
Christian Eriksen signed a short term deal with Thomas Frank’s Brentford side in January and had a very positive impact, helping the club from relegation worries to an impressive 13th place finish. The Danish midfielder, who collapsed on the pitch in Copenhagen just 12 months ago is back to his usual best and will be a quality signing for whoever can pick him up.
Brentford are hoping to keep their playmaker and have submitted a serious offer to keep the Dane. Spurs are also interested in becoming reunited with Eriksen, after making 304 appearances before moving to Inter in January 2020.
Important, but Not Manchester United’s Priority
Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong is still believed to be the Red Devil’s top priority (Read More: Why the Frenkie De Jong to Manchester United Deal is Taking so Long). However, valuations between the two clubs of the Dutch midfielder remain some way apart and a deal could still be a distance from finishing. Manchester United are losing many key midfielders this summer; Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic, Jesse Lingard and Juan Mata among others all need replaced.
Christian Eriksen, although a high wage, offers Manchester United a free signing to spend their budget elsewhere.
