Described as a versatile defender, Perisset began her career in 2012 with Lyon where she spent four years before moving to Paris Saint-Germain. Most recently, Perisset played for Bordeaux where she operated as a full-back on either flank and occasionally in midfield. Perisset brings a lot of experience and versatility to the Chelsea squad which should see her given minutes across all competitions.

Chelsea have been linked with Kadeisha Buchanan for weeks now. The world-class defender stated her intention to leave Lyon at the end of her contract after an incredibly successful stint with the club. The Canadian defender spent five and a half years with Lyon, winning five Champions League titles and eight domestic trophies with the French side.
Buchanan started out at college level before becoming one of Europe’s best defenders. Buchanan brings a lot to Chelsea as she is renowned for her comfort on the ball and passing ability from the centre-back position. In addition to her playmaking skills, she is an incredible defender who reads the game at a level few can match. Defending has occasionally been an issue for Chelsea Women but someone of Buchanan’s level will help shore up the defence.
This summer is looking like a big one for Chelsea as they look to put together a squad capable of contending in Europe while also dealing with the departure of veteran players like Ji So-Yun. By signing Buchanan and Perisset they’ve got things off to the perfect start.
