Third Summer Signing
Aston Villa have been getting their transfer business done early this summer. Carlos is the third signing they have announced after they made Philippe Coutinho’s stay at Villa Park permanent and signed former Marseille midfielder Boubacar Kamara on a free transfer.
This is some solid business by Aston Villa, who despite a mixed end to the season are adding to an already decent side.
Steven Gerrard is preparing for his first full season at the club and looks to be building a solid squad with the focus now said to be turning on improving their fringe players, that is according to Jonathan Percy, of The Telegraph.
It’s can be ever so important to get your business done as early as Villa are, not least because you have a greater chance of acquiring your first choice targets.

Diego Carlos made 136 appearances during his time with Sevilla. He was part of a side who conceded the fewest goals in all of La Liga last season (30) and can provide Aston Villa with more solidity at the back.
Carlos is yet to make his senior debut for Brazil but should he shine in the Premier League that will come before too long.
He won the Europa League with Sevilla in 2019/20 – beating Antonio Conte’s Inter Milan in the final.
Carlos can add a goal too, he scored three times for Sevilla this season. He’s managed a total of six throughout his time in La Liga.
