A Fikayo Tomori contract extension is in progress with AC Milan, according to Fabrizio Romano. Negotiations are currently underway, and the player and Rossoneri are looking to extend until June 2027. There’s optimism around the deal as Tomori is very happy at Milan. More than that, Milan, of course, just lifted the Scudetto and are back on the path to success.
Fikayo Tomori Contract Extension in the Works
A Fantastic Tenure
Tomori has been nothing short of excellent since joining Milan. He was rarely used at Chelsea and spent time on loan with Brighton & Hove Albion, Hull City, and Derby County. Tomori was acquired on loan in January 2021. At the time, he was behind both Simon Kjaer and Alessio Romagnoli in the pecking order. This didn’t last long, as Tomori’s play was too great to ignore.
Milan permanently acquired Tomori from Chelsea last summer. Now he’s the team’s leader in the defence.
The Rossoneri hold the title of reigning Serie A champions for at least another year. A lot of this is directly attributed to Tomori’s play. Milan were able to keep nine clean sheets in the last 11 matches of the season, conceding just two goals in that span. Tomori always covers the opposing team’s top goal-scoring threat, and he did this job excellently. He’s no longer a complement to a veteran centre-back, Tomori is now the centre-back for Milan.
It’s important to keep in mind that Tomori is just 24-years-old. His prime years are still waiting for him. Now he can join the ranks of historic Milan defenders, such as Paolo Maldini, Alessandro Nesta, Franco Baresi, and so much more.
Tomori is putting everyone on notice, earning a call-up to the England National Team and their upcoming Nations League fixtures. A bright future awaits Tomori as well as the other core of young Milan talent.
