Arsenal Predicted Line-up Against Manchester United

Arsenal predicted line-up

Arsenal shone in their last outing to beat fierce London rivals, Chelsea, in a 4-2 victory at Stamford Bridge. This win continued The Gunners’ fine form under Mikel Arteta. They now go head-to-head with sixth-placed Manchester United, who will be looking to put themselves back to winning ways following a 4-0 loss to Liverpool on Tuesday night. Read on to see our Arsenal predicted line-up.

Their most recent triumph has moved them up level on points with North London rivals Tottenham in four place, which seemed unthinkable after three straight defeats. A victory against Manchester United could stretch the gap between the two Premier League giants to six points and aid their hunt for Champions League football.

How Arsenal Have Lined-up Recently

The red team from North London have used the trusted 4-2-3-1 throughout this season almost without fail and will look to do so again this weekend despite the attacking threat that Manchester United can pose. The two midfielders who sit in front solidify the defence and create a block for opposing teams, which proved efficient against Chelsea by nullifying their attackers. This system also provides width in transition and allows spaces to open, where Arsenal will seem most dangerous in front of goal.

The manager made some big but crucial decisions before the Chelsea match with the inclusion of Mohamed Elneny and Rob Holding following the defeat to Southampton. Both changes were impactful due to their disciplined performances, and Arteta will look for both players to feature this weekend.

Arsenal have been without European football this season after finishing eighth in the previous campaign. A push for those European spots will be a key to Arteta’s success this year and a win over United would boost their top-four bid and in turn lower United’s hopes. After their triumphant win, it would seem too much of a risk for Arteta and his team to make any rash changes.

Arsenal Injury Worries for Consideration

Former Cagliari defender, Takehiro Tomiyasu has been recently under the watchful eye of the Arsenal staff due to consistent calf issues. Though he could be set to feature against Rangnick’s men after he was spotted back in training.

Having previously undergone surgery for a serious knee injury, Kieran Tierney is expected to be sidelined until the summer and therefore will miss the upcoming match-up against Manchester United. It is also expected that Ghanian midfielder Thomas Partey will be ruled out for the remainder of the campaign after being withdrawn from action against Crystal Palace with a thigh injury.

Alexandre Lacazette, however, can play after recovering from COVID-19 last week and even entered the field of play late on against Chelsea. His place in the starting 11 is in doubt following Nketiah’s prolific performance against the Blues.
