An Alexandre Lacazette transfer update has been revealed with the striker telling Canal Plus in an interview that he is “in discussions” with many different clubs. Lacazette’s contract at Arsenal is set to expire this summer and the Frenchman has made his intention to leave clear.
Lacazette: “I am in discussions with a lot of clubs. I am open. I want to play in Europe, it’s been a long time since I played in the Champions League, I’m missing it.”https://t.co/ouW6wzFPrq

Alexandre Lacazette Transfer Update – Striker Ready to Leave Arsenal This Summer
Lacazette’s Impact at Arsenal
Lacazette has led the Gunners’ attack since Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s departure to Barcelona where he is set to stay for the foreseeable future after a fantastic start to life in Spain. However, the Frenchman hasn’t been as clinical in front of goal as Arsenal fans would’ve hoped. He has only managed to score one goal in 14 appearances since the start of the new year.
This doesn’t mean he has not had an influence on the Arsenal attack. Lacazette has registered seven assists in the Premier League this season. No other player has contributed more in this area for the North London side.
Alexandre Lacazette Looking for Champions League Football
“I am in discussions with a lot of clubs. I am open. I want to play in Europe, it’s been a long time since I played in the Champions League”, Lacazette told reporters.
Lacazette also left a potential return to Lyon open, despite their current league position being a disappointing 7th in Ligue 1. Regardless, Lacazette has expressed his love for the club that gave him his break as a footballer.
“I have never cut contact with Lyon since I left,” Lacazette expressed.
“I try to return to the club once or twice a year to see the medical staff because we are really close. Lyon know that I am free, they have to come with a proposal.”

How will this Affect Arsenal’s Challenge for Top Four?
Mikel Arteta’s side have been on a terrible run of form as of late, losing four of their last five games. Their most recent defeat came at the hands of a struggling Southampton side. The Gunners have dropped down to 6th in the table and with fixtures against Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur looming, their Champions League hopes seem to be dimming.
Arteta will require all of his players to be committed moving into the final phase of the season. However, with one of the more experienced players suggesting he will need to move elsewhere for Champions League football, it begs the question as to how disunited the club may be behind the scenes.
