As per Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United star Marcus Rashford is considering his Old Trafford future. As things stand, his contract runs out in June 2023, leaving just a year for a decision to be made. With the forward’s game time lessening by the week, too, it may not be long before we see Rashford on the move.
Marcus Rashford Considering Old Trafford Future
Stagnating at Manchester United
If you go back a couple of seasons, Rashford was the main man at Manchester United; the present, the future, and everything in between. But a number of injuries, and a clear confidence crisis later, and he looks a far cry from the player tipped for legend status at Old Trafford – culminating in a place on the bench under Ralf Rangnick.
Following the emergence of Anthony Elanga, too, Rashford may well be left behind. It could simply be a case of return to your best, or move aside. In a way, it seems a tad ironic that Rashford could lose his place to an emerging star taking his chances. After all, that’s exactly what the struggling forward did what seems many moons ago now. And, blue moons at that, too.
Where Does Rashford Go From Here?
Asking questions about where Manchester United players go from here, or this calamity of a campaign, in general, is as about as difficult as it gets. Not even those at the top could provide a substantial answer. Rangnick has come in, overseen little improvement regarding results, and will, ultimately, step aside for the next in line to damage their reputation.
As for Rashford, does he wait and see who that next man will be? If it’s Eric ten Hag, then his luck may be in. The Dutchman has somewhat of a reputation for his ability to get the very best out of his resources. And, maybe, just maybe, he can help Rashford rediscover his previously electric nature.
