According to Fabrizio Romano, Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey has sealed a loan move to Scottish champions Rangers. On top of the loan, a buy option is reportedly be included in the deal.
The move away comes as little surprise. Ramsey never really found his feet in Italy, and the exit door always look slightly ajar. Now, Scotland and the chance to revive his career beckons. And he may even pick up a league title on the way.
Aaron Ramsey Seals Loan Move to Rangers
Much-Needed Move
To say that Aaron Ramsey’s career has become stale would be the understatement of the year. The Welshman has made just five appearances all season. At 31, he simply couldn’t risk becoming further frozen out at Juventus. For the sake of his career, a move had to happen. Enter Rangers.
The Scottish champions will welcome the former Arsenal midfielder with open arms. Not only does he bring incredible experience, but European pedigree and ability, too – even at 31. Of course, his injury issues are always a problem, but for a player of his quality, Rangers can look past that.
There is very little margin for error left for Rangers in the Scottish Premiership. They sit just two points above Celtic in the fight for the title. Manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst will be hoping that Ramsey makes an instant impact.
At his best, Ramsey could outperform every other competitor in Scotland; he can be the difference-maker between a title won, and a title lost.
On paper, the deal – for a former Arsenal star now at Juventus – could hardly be more appealing for Rangers. If Ramsey performs, too, they’ll have the option to buy ready to go. When looking back on this deal at the end of the season, it could be up there with the best.
