Vagner Love Full of Enthusiasm
Vagner Love has had a long and varied career in football but upon signing a short-term deal with the Danish side he says he still has as much enthusiasm for the game as he did when he first started, he told Midtjylland’s club website: “It is a fantastic feeling to have come to Central Jutland. It gives butterflies in my stomach like at my first contract and I’m just looking forward to getting started on the training ground. FC Midtjylland is a new and exciting chapter in my career, and I am very excited that it has succeeded now.”
Incredible CV
Vagner Love arrives in Denmark with an impressive CV that any club would be happy to have around even it is for a short period of time. In total, he has won 21 trophies in his career including winning the Copa America twice with his native Brazil and the then-named UEFA Cup with CSKA Moscow and at 37 he is showing no signs that he is ready to hang up his boots.
Midtjylland’s new number 19 said: “As a person and a football player, I am very competitive. I have always been, and the hunger to win is still great for me. I look forward to chasing titles with my new teammates. That is why I have come to Central Jutland. I want to win titles here.”
Motivation Trumps Age Concerns
Vagner Love went on to say that his age is of no concern as his motivation remains in place: “People like to talk about my age, but it does not take up much space for me. The most important thing is that I am still 100 percent motivated as a football player, and you will be able to see that on the pitch. I will do my best to contribute to the success of the team.”
Having scored just short of 300 goals in 600 appearances he sits in illustrious company as one of Brazil’s top marksmen of the current millennium alongside the likes of Neymar and Fred.
Helping Youth to Blossom
Vagner Love does not just see his role as being just on the pitch with Midtjylland but also to help mentor the younger players to grow and have successful and long careers like his own: “Therefore, it appeals to me a lot that FC Midtjylland is a club that has many young players on the team. Now it’s my role to be the experienced one who can help the young players to take the next step. I look forward to the role where I can share my experiences as a football player.”
The signing is one that will have fans of the club excited for the present and the future.
The club currently sit two points clear at the top of the Danish Superliga, looking to better last season’s second-place finish.
