Despite recent links away from the club, Ivan Perisic looks set to stay at Inter Milan, with a move away from the Serie A champion ruled out by Fabrizio Romano. The winger was reportedly attracting interest from Chelsea. The Blues, perhaps in search of further forward-thinking players – look unlikely to form any kind of deal this month, however.
Perisic, even at 32-years-old, has played a key part in Inter Milan’s season thus far – making an impressive total of 26 appearances, in which he has been involved in six goals.

Experience Key
It is clear from an Inter Milan perspective that Perisic is an important player. They had the chance to add funds to spend on more youthful players, but is seems as no Perisic’s experience outweighs what a younger player could offer.
With experience in abundance, Perisic and Inter look set to make it back-to-back Scudetto wins. As things stand, the Milan club sit top of the pile, with City rivals AC Milan second, two points adrift, having played a game extra.
Such is the power shift in Italian football right now, it would come as no surprise if Simone Inzaghi’s side dominated for years to come. When you add in their increasingly wise transfer business, too, things are constantly on the up.
Just last summer, they waved goodbye to star striker Romelu Lukaku for a more than hefty fee, opting to bring Edin Dzeko in as a replacement. Since making that change, they have not looked back. Keeping Ivan Perisic represents another piece of good decision making as they strike to defend their Serie A crown.
The experience winger should prove more and more valuable for the Italian champions, who have a crucial few months ahead of them.
