Bruno Lage Firm on Traore Future

Traore has been linked with a January transfer to Tottenham Hotspur but Wolves manager Bruno Lage is confident that no deal for the player will be done and the player wants to remain with his current club;

“About Adama, the only thing I can say, it’s the same Adama since the first day. Every time training well, being the good professional he is. He is here with us, wants to play for us and always works hard.”

Antonio Conte and Wing Backs

Spurs manager Conte is a fan of using paced wing backs and is credited with turning a round the struggling career of Victor Moses when he was manager at Chelsea. Traore is fast, powerful and would fit the bill for the Italian but question marks exist over his play in the final third where his goal scoring and assists leave much to be desired. However as it stands at the moment, Lage is not aware that any bids have come in for the player;

“No. For now I know nothing.”

Important Player

Lage also made it clear that despite rotating his squad, Traore is an important player for him;

“If you look at the 19 or 20 games we have had, he has started at least half the games,” Lage explained. “When he hasn’t been in the first XI, he jumped from the bench to help the team.”

Lage is however wary that in football things can change quickly and Traore is entering the last year of his current contract;

“But this is football. The club has talked with Adama before, he has one year left on his contract, and I need to understand that.”
