Premier League Transfer Latest as Eddie Nketiah Transfer Interest Hots Up
Crystal Palace ‘Ready’ to Make Offer for Rival Club’s Striker
Crystal Palace remain keen on signing striker Eddie Nketiah despite the forward’s desire to move to the Bundesliga.
Nketiah, 22, is subject to long-term interest from the Eagles but is keen on a free transfer to Germany in order to secure a “major payday” as well as more regular playing time.
According to The Sun Palace are “hovering” around Nketiah and ready to offer the young forward more regular minutes in the Premier League.
No concrete transfer offer has been made, although Palace sporting director Dougie Freedman watched Eddie Nketiah net a hat-trick in Arsenal’s 5-1 win over Sunderland in the League Cup last week.
Celtic Boss Confirms Interest to Sign Tottenham Defender on Permanent Deal
Ange Postecoglou is keen on signing defender Cameron Carter-Vickers on a permanent deal after a run of impressive performances on-loan from Tottenham in Scotland.
The USA international has quickly established himself as a regular fixture in Postecoglou’s set-up north of the border, and it is no surprise that there is a desire to make his addition permanent.
When asked if he wants to keep Carter-Vickers, the Celtic boss told the Daily Record: “Absolutely. I wouldn’t have brought him in if I thought it was just a short-term thing.
“All the players we have brought in, we have done so with some thought around building a team. And building a team means more than just 12 months. A lot of that depends on the player himself.
“But those discussions will happen over the next couple of months. January gives us an opportunity to look at our squad again.
“We can have a think about what we want to do in this window and beyond. Part of that discussion will be around players we have on loan and seeing what decisions we want to make on them.
“If the players are happy here and want to stay here, we will get round to those discussions.”
Jose Mourinho Eyes up Manchester United ‘Raid’ for Youngster
Former Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is set to rival Tottenham in pursuit of singing young midfielder Charlie Wellens.
The 19-year-old was introduced to the first-team set-up at United under Mourinho but has yet to make himself a firm contender for a spot in the starting eleven.
According to The Sun, Mourinho wanted to sign Wellens when at Tottenham – who remain interested – and he is now hopeful of drawing him across to Roma.
Wellens was called into United’s Champions League squad and is playing Under-21 football — but he may have a better chance of progress elsewhere.
Inter Milan tried to sign the youngster last year but failed in their attempts.
