New Lorenzo Insigne Deal Now on Table

Uncertainty

Uncertainty has surrounded Napoli captain Lorenzo Insigne throughout the summer with the player still not having signed a new deal with Napoli and his current contract set to expire in June 2022. The player has been in no rush to sign a new deal, having told Sky Italia: “I solely take into consideration enjoying and about what occurs on the pitch.”

Insigne went on to explain that, whilst playing football is his only consideration, he leaves anything else to his agent:

“My agent takes care of the opposite points. I all the time put the crew in entrance, I all the time work exhausting and I all the time arrive with a smile. I don’t take into consideration the contract, there’s time to focus on with the membership. My agent and the membership will care for it, I nonetheless have one year.” (Remaining on current deal.)

These comments will have alerted many clubs around Europe, but it now seems he is set to remain with Napoli.

Pre-Contract Agreements Can Be Signed Should Napoli Fail With New Deal

Napoli want to get a new deal signed, as in January 2022 he will be able to sign pre-contract agreements, which would see him leave the club for free in the summer of 2022, something that would add salt to the wounds should Napoli fail to get the new deal signed.

Now that talks have taken place between player and President, there is a feeling that good will exists between all parties and a new contract will be signed, putting an end to the interest from Europe.
