Reece James’ Medals Stolen as He Played in Champions League
House Robbery
James himself took to social media on the afternoon of Thursday September 16 to state that his home had been burgled. The player also posted CCTV footage of the robbery taking place. James said via his Instagram account that:
“On the evening of the 14th of September 2021 when I was playing for my club in the return of the Champions League, a group of cowardly robbers broke into my house. They managed to collectively lift a heavy safe containing some personal items of mine into their car.”
James was defiant about the theft stating that:
“These medals were won representing Chelsea and England – honours that can never be taken away from me whether or not I have the physical medals to prove it. Nevertheless, I am appealing to all my Chelsea and England fans to help identify and turn in these low life individuals who will never be able to rest easy as the evidence is mounting against them.”
James was also keen to express his feelings of relief that no-one was at home at the time of the robbery and no one was injured, as he continued:
“Luckily, no one was present during the break in but I want to let all of you know I am safe and well.”
The hope is that the culprits are found and punished, with Reece James getting his well-earned medals back, in the process. Such is the unique nature of the stolen items, it could be easier to track them down.
